Good Morning, Sunshine

Very early this morning my husband found me on the floor of my office, hands wrapped around my knees and alternating between sobbing and staring at the far wall. Fortunately I have married a person who, upon finding his spouse of three weeks alternating between sobbing and staring at the far wall, does not do the logical American thing and email Oprah. Instead he gently uncoiled me and said, "Don't do this in your office" and led me to another, far more appropriate part of the house to conduct the onset of a large to medium-sized depression, like the kitchen, where at least there are Cheez-Its.

I love you too, groom, and your superhuman ability to love me.

Hey Mary Beth,

I am grateful you write to us about these hard times too. You've just gone through what, three? four? of the top ten stressors in a person's life - stress being not just negative stuff, of course. It's possible you are going through a really normal reaction to all this change; this darkness shall pass. You are surrounded by an immense circle of love and well-wishing (OK, and cheez-its.) Keep on dong one task at a time, hugging JTP, and taking long walks.
with prayers of gratitude and concern, aazmom

I highly recommend the white cheddar cheez-its to cure all ills. Hang in there. This is when you remember why you married your significant other. Of course you guys haven't been married long enough to forget yet. =)

My own DH is familiar with snapping me out of such sessions as well. He's found that Pez, a slushie, and/or a toy store work best.
It's these things that make us realize we've married above our mental status ;-)

I know that darkness. It took me ten years to realize that when you can't stand, it's okay to lean. It seems you are a faster learner.

whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say, "Even so, it is well with my soul."

Hang in there, MB! Listen to some "happy" music and take it easy; this too shall pass!
