Points

Today I tried on a wedding ring and applied for a mortgage.

More when I can blink again.

Congratulations! No turning back now. It's so much fun following your journey to altar guys. Best of luck to you both.

Ah, the Big Step(tm). Did the same thing myself back in November and I'm still in the shaking-my-head-in-disbelief oh-my-God-what-have-I-gotten-into stage. No worries, that house note will get much better after the first several years (yea, I know, it sounds stupid, but it's true).

Yep, and no matter how much the prices for other things rise, your mortgage won't. (Unless you move, of course.)

Have fun watching 99% of your first few year's payments go towards interest!

No big deal. The interest is tax deductable. Your home is an investment. Enjoy it. Enjoy the rings too.

Glad to hear you have the rings. Here is a lesson in learning from others' mistakes:

My friend got married and went on a honeymoon in Mexico. He went swimming in the Gulf of Mexico. His ring didn't swim so well and fell off. He didn't notice it was missing until that night. (Actually, his new wife noticed.) It was so new he never missed wearing it.

Maybe you should try wearing them now so if they fall off, you'll notice and not have to replace them 2 weeks after the wedding.

Hope you have better luck.

Fun stuff. It's the kind of stuff that forces you to feel like a grown up. Congratulations guys! :-)

LOL! I can beat that! My hubby lost his @ the RECEPTION! Ahem, the FIRST ring he lost was @ the reception, the 2nd on our honeymoon, the 3rd several months later. We got matching tatoos on our honeymoon that depict tribal suns, (after we got back, my darling cousin says,"Wow you guys must LOVE Godsmack!" Yes, I smacked him.) anyhow, our tatoos are our rings now. :)
