Josh The Flight Instructor part 2

Here's a video shot by my student Joe during one of our recent flights. Yes, Joe is his real name. The noise you will hear right before touchdown is simply the airplane telling me we're going really slow, which is kinda the point when trying to land, especially in a light trainer like what I am flying in the video.

Here's a picture of the type of airplane (not the exact one) I fly with Joe.

After watching the video again all the way to the end, I realize I look and sound exactly like my twin brother... funny how that happens...

Why do you keep licking your lips?

Is it just me, or does the low-altitude-alert thingie sound like the broken horn in Little Miss Sunshine?

LOL "Just like that!"

And forget the registries, I'm sending Chapstick as a wedding gift! :-)

Was that the Leesburg Airport? And, if so, how are you liking the area?

Anon,
Unconscious habit I guess.

Nice shades, Maverick ;-)

That didn't look like Dulles, must have been Leesburg International. :) Nice flyin'!

Thanks Kayla, but really, it's only an unconscious habit. My lips are fine, as MB knows. :-)

Anon2 and kredin, Leesburg is a great place to fly, even when we're contending with Dulles departures flying low over our traffic pattern. There's nothing like taking off and suddenly seeing a Boeing 747 seemingly headed right at you. They're actually about 1000-2000 feet above, which is plenty of distance, but with an airplane that big it still seems really close.

can't beat the annoying sound of a stall warning. Hope you're liking the area, Josh
