Clearly Cosby Wasn't Notified

Concerning Pudding Pops:

I seem to remember smooth vanilla--sometimes vanilla-and-chocolate-- goodness.

I seem to remember an intoxicating layer of ice that required pre-biting before achieving said goodness.

I seem to remember a dessert that did not smell like just-shorn lumber.

I didn't even know The Pop had left until I had a tonsillectomy in 1997, and I was left to make do with such tripe as sherbet, Tropical Twists, and Twin Pops. I threw up an entire grape Popsicle Original on the way home from the hospital, I was so upset.

So when I saw that the Pudding Pop had returned, this time under the Popsicle umbrella of icy power, I spent almost four whole entire dollars on a box of twelve, quite sure that the cardboard box was merely a container, and not meant as a pre-flavoring agent. And... and... the Pudding Pops, they're, like, really small now, and square, and mushy, and they made me cry.

Maybe they always sucked and I was simply naive about the whole thing. Then again, I also used to subsist almost entirely on fake Pez, post-Halloween, and thought nothing of it.

I don't see how I'm going to get over this.

Oh MB - you're breaking my heart. I too saw my beloved pops but they weren't sugar free so I didn't buy - I'm devastated, I was looking for that layer of ice as well. I had tried to make my own a few years back - no ice, not the same.

You're missing absolutely NOTHING, my friend.

I feel your pain. I had my tonsils out in January (at the prime age of 25) and the one thing I really wanted was float pops, the ice cream filled popcicles that came in a mix box of 6 flavors. I could not find them anywhere, just 'Creamsicles' which only came in raspberry and orange. I tried them anyway and the popsicle was horrible, all grainy and not tasty. I was so mad I threw the rest of the box away. I've scoured the internet and cannot find my beloved float pops. Popsicle companys should be required to notify everyone when they discontinue products so we can stock pile them while they're still available.

I've been craving the Pudding Pop ever since I saw that Bill Cosby's dog won the big dog show. The PP has not made it's way to Arkansas yet--I've been looking. Thanks for the warning...
Hmmmm, Pudding Pop. Picture Pages. Bill Cosby liked alliteration.

I felt the same way about Peeps when I tried then for the first time in a decade not too long ago. It aws sad and horrifying.

Say it isn't so! I have missed that stick of frosty goodness since i waas a kid. The chocolate ones really tasted like creamy frozen pudding. I was so dissapointed when they stopped making them. I cannot believe they would treat one of the all time best dessert on a stick options like that. I thought you were going to give us good news! I need some since it wasn't me that won the lottery last night. Well, I'll go on and try to make it throught the day....

BTW...Good luck on your reading! You will be awesome as usual!

Oh yes, the pudding pop is much smaller now and clearly not the same as it was when I was little. Not cheap either. I nearly cried - but ate a bowl of Cocoa Puffs instead and was happy again. Have you had those lately? They are even better at making chocolate milk now...Oh I'm hungry.

I will never understand this audience. Earlier this week I posted pictures of me ten yards away from the SPACE SHUTTLE, and nothin'. Today, four paragraphs on Pudding Pops, and all the world must be heard. Truly, I have found my people.

*Sigh* Do you remember the Jello pops too? They were yummy frozen creamy J-E-L-L-O. I fondly remember the pink ones. MMMMM. And am I imagining it, or were there "swirled" ones, like chocolate AND banana?

These are the very Puddin Pops to which I refer, anon.

For what it's worth, you look a lot better than Atlantis despite the fact that she's younger than you.

Well, thanks. She's no longer a maiden, however.
