Dear Reds

When it's the bottom of the 15th and there are two on, you might not want to walk the batter so that you can pitch to the league leader in home runs instead. I'm just sayin'.

Love,

Without having seen the game in question, my guess is that they intentionally walked the person to load the bases, either to set up a force play at home or to get a double play.

Since it was the BOTTOM of the 15th, only the first run matters, so sticking someone else on base is irrelevant. They needed to get an out (if not two) and the easiest way to do that is to set up force plays.

Checking the ESPN report on the game . . . well, according to this, they walked the bases loaded in the bottom of the 14th to face a pitcher, and then Aaron Rowand, who's a pretty good player but isn't anywhere near the league lead in homers.

As a matter of fact, the person they intentionally walked was Ryan Howard, who is the league leader in home runs. So, either you were watching a different game, or ESPN botched it entirely.

No disrespect to mike the baseball know-it-all, but it's actually the fact that the reds $uck and are masters at blowing leads, no matter how large

MB - are you home?

Dear Greens,

Why do you insist on looking so good, both in the grocery aisle and on the racks in my favorite clothing store, and yet look so badly when stuck in my teeth or placed lovingly on my upper body in the form of a shirt?

Tell me, dammit. I know where you live!
