Googleplex

What do you call a person who is not your ex, but who you cheated on your ex with?

Whatever you call that person, I Googled mine the other day, out of a sick sort of curiosity (Google was invented, I strongly believe, solely for people to address our deep-seated need to confirm that we are currently living infinitely better lives than those of former romantic partners.) He was a seminarian at the time (when I decide to go bad, you see, I don't mess around) and was a Rhodes scholar and spoke something like eighty-seven languages.

Here's a shocker: He's left the seminary, works in finance in Chicago, and is pretty much walking wallet-lopsided from all the bank he's currently pulling. Huh.

It's a strange concept, as this man was involved in the worst, most hurtful thing I've ever done in my life, but I'm glad he's doing well.

I'm sure he's an excellent banker. Not a bad kisser, either.

you betcha I went to Confession over that one at: mb@blondechampange.com

I do that too. I like it when I can find pictures along with info. :-)

I've given up on googling exes (or ex-makers) because they are utterly unfindable. I had a thing for guys with common names... Anyway, I assuage my guilt (if not my curiosity) when a fella crosses my mind by saying a prayer that he is happy, successful, and loved. It makes me feel better, since I was generally an abominable human being come break-up time.

You gwan and done it again mb, and that is why I dare not post under any name 'cept "anon" this time. At our most recent ladies' lunch, we discovered ALL 5 of us sisters had googled the exes. No criminal activity unearthed, thank G-d. Pictures, em? Especially gratifying to see receding hairlines and paunches. >meow!<

I'm right there with you. Haven't found anything exciting on mine but I was reading my hometown newspaper and saw that my sister's senior prom date just got sent to prison. He was the town's building inspector and was taking bribes. Her husband has enjoyed that one. =)

In roughly the same vein: a friend of mine was telling us about her 10-years-out-in-the-real-world high school reunion. She went to a Rough high school (although, this being Australia, guns and shooting other students did not feature) and for the reunion a whole bunch of her former classmates were let out of the local jail on special day release for the occasion. Which they then celebrated by trashing the venue. Which apparently improved it no end. ye gods and little fishes!

Incidentally, my mate Fiona is now a senior manager in our nation's capital....
