Loved your Severus Snape story, which led me to your blog. Dear Lord, I haven't laughed that hard in ages. Thanks so much, Aunt Beth!

Ooooooh, do I get to be the first one to post a comment. Cool! I thoroughly enjoy reading your blog, which I found after reading your very funny Snape article. I'm a huge Harry Potter nerd, and nearly died laughing when you referred to Snape's clothing as the Johnny Cash collection. Every since then, I've been laughing with you (and sometimes at you, just kidding!!!) Thanks!

Oh good! People using the comments to tell me I'm awesome. Hi everybody! I think I like this.

As an Official College Undergrad, I just want to say your blog and its archives got me through a really awful finals week last quarter. I love your stuff. Although it wouldn't have hurt if you felt like writing insightful analysis of the situation in Northern Ireland now and then... just kidding.

I thought that I'd be the first to leave you a string of obscenities or sexual innuendo, but then I figured that you might get all wet and excited.

Everyone knows that no matter how long you have been posting to a blog, you truly don't have an official blog until you get spammed to death or cursed out by a disgrunted reader in your comments section.

Nice to see that you have commenting.

Comments...cool.

I found the blog after the "Star Wars" article on Obi Wan, which made my cry I was laughing so hard.

Just a few words of advice. Definitely enable the code for comments so you don't get spam (I have a non-existent readership but got offers for all sorts of interesting things). And prepare for stupid people who will, no matter how nicely we all play, feel it's their duty to be complete and utter jerks.

Cheers.

Looks like that Severus Snape article was the big draw- I also found you that way and have been ROLLING reading your stuff! I'm a professor too and - and you really captured the dread, fear, nausea and sweet ways to butter up the little darlings in that article. I absolutely love teaching- and your honest and funny anecdotes are hilarious! I spent several hours reading your archives only to read then that I wasn't the only one spending far too much time reading blogs. Thanks for the link... Do you read other's blogs?

Love you, Mary Beth! You are awesomely funny and an inspiration to me:):)

Loved the archive link to "Must be wonderful in Vermont this time of year, all that snow"! I thought my mom and I were the only ones who knew every single word out of Bing's mouth (and Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, and Vera-Ellen's, for that matter) in White Christmas... Glad to know there's someone else my age with the same holiday tradition!

By the way, yes, you totally rock.

Found you a while ago via your article about Mr. Darcy. I think I shared it with every woman I knew. Thank you for the laughs, and keep it up!

I guess I have to jump on the Severus Snape bandwagon here -- that's how I found you too. I've been working my way through your archives, ever since. It's been hard, trying to laugh really hard (silently) so my coworkers don't hear me ...

I have been reading this blog for about 9 months now, and I love it! Mary Beth you are the bestest ever! I love Cin city too. I go to Kings Island at least once a year. Go Bangels!

I stumbled across your blog due to your 'Firth Factor' column, which rocked. I've been reading faithfully ever since, mostly when I should be working.

BTW - what did you think of the newest incarnation of Pride & Prejudice? I liked it, although I had some issues with is (who the hell goes traipsing the countryside pre-dawn because they can't sleep?)

Hey -- I love the comments idea.

I have been reading since your MSN article on moive men. You are so funny and such a talented writer....just love that dry wit!! I have been meaning to email you for a while to tell you how much I loved your entry about your friend's wedding and the blue star. I swear it brought tears to my eyes. I know, what a loser I am...I don't even know you guys and I am tearing up over a barrette!! Anyway, keep on doing your thing, we love it.

P.S. I also went through a serious N.K.O.T.B. stage -- I loved me some Jordan Knight!! Thanks for publicly admitting your secret, at least now I know it wasn't just me :-)

you had me at "you tried, young, hot Obi-Wan, you tried," and I have been a faithful reader ever since. Keep up the awesome work.

Love it! Love it! Love it! I've been a fan since the Obi Wan article. I'm in the final stress-filled weeks of finishing my dissertation and the only thing that has kept me sane are your stories (articles, blogs, notes?)...

You're not going to correct our grammar and punctuation in the comment section, are you?

Hi Mary Beth!

Found you a while ago -- something off of MSNBC I'm sure but I don't know what. I love reading your work!

Merry (still) Christmas, MB! :)
Your blog is so informative. I always learn about something like horse racing or rocketships or... strangers in florida. It's the best. I like reading your MSNBC stuff too.
*throws a muddy slushball* It snowed today, so will probably be 60 tomorrow. That's the news from North Cackalakee.

Mary Beth is so cool. I disagree with the politics (when did she become so right-wing) but I love the witty sarcasm.
